Power Up
Congratulations and thank you for wanting to do something revolutionary and mentor a middle school student in Columbus City Schools through the Columbus Urban League Community Connectors Mentoring Initiative.
Mentoring is a powerful chance to recharge a life, including your own.
What to expect:
STEP ONE – PLUG IN: Use the form below to share your contact information with us (we won’t share it with anyone else!).
Then Fevean (her name rhymes with seven) will contact you about filling out some required, but simple paperwork, completing a background check and scheduling an introductory meeting with our team.
STEP TWO – POWER UP: CUL and the 4-H program (as administered by OSU Extension, Franklin County) will give you all the tools – training, curriculum, expert coaching – to be a great mentor. The training will be a classroom session with other mentors like you followed by some online materials to review.
STEP THREE – GO LIVE: Connect with cool young folks for 90 minutes a week for the rest of the school year. Learn and grow together. Energize and activate a brighter, richer future together. You’ll spend time with your student after school and have the opportunities to take part in additional group activities that CUL will arrange.
START NOW: Assistance needed now — training begins in January. Sign up now on the form below. You can read the complete mentor job description or check out the frequently asked questions.
