Stephanie Hightower, Recognized at Columbus Urban League
Since assuming the role as President/CEO of the Columbus Urban League, Stephanie Hightower has made CUL a respected advocate and trusted resource for underrepresented communities. She has increased revenues seven-fold, launched nationally recognized entrepreneurial programs, created an economic hub from an abandoned building in King-Lincoln district, hosted a national urban league conference ($6.6M economic impact) and worked 24/7 as an emergency provider during the pandemic. She’s also built other community resources, supporting high-impact organizations like Freedom Equity, Zora’s House, and Adelphi Bank. Now she’s transforming CUL’s focus from social service provider to a wealth-building powerhouse, adding even more resources for start-ups/small businesses and creating pathways to advanced training and resources to ensure all people can grow their earning power and access the jobs of the future. She sees an inclusive economy as central to our region’s success and shared prosperity.
