Summer Youth Project: VLOG 2021

Open to ages 16-18. Pays $15/hr for up to 100 hours.

40 youth will participate in an online and in-person learning experience called VLOG 2021. VLOG 2021 will help youth polish critical digital skills using YouTube as a primary platform, creating and developing digital content. Participants will create their own VLOGs (Video Blog) to share reflections on COVID-19, racism and more. Each youth will also develop a marketing strategy to attract “viewers” to watch their final videos on YouTube.

Ready2Earn

Open to ages 14-18. Pays up to $1,300 in stipends and incentives.

The Ready2Earn Summer Program is back for 2021! This program is for youth ages 14-18 (income eligibility may apply) and will run for 8 weeks, from June 21 through August 13. The program will include a combination of in-person and virtual career exploration and development programming. Through Ready2Earn, youth can earn up to $1,300 in stipends and incentives for completing project-based learning goals, trainings, and on-site internships with local companies. Youth can also participate in hybrid experiences  to explore a variety of career interests and/or industries.

 

Young Geniuses

Open to ages 9-13.

Approximately 40 eligible students will strengthen their reading and math skills over the summer break. The 6 week curriculum (June 14 – July 23, with an additional field trip/virtual week) includes STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) lessons as well as health and wellness, leadership development, future empowerment, and character development. This summer camp takes place daily at KIPP Columbus and also includes many engaging hands-on activities.
