STEP: Strive Toward Empowerment & Potential
The STEP program is an 8-week intervention program in partnership with The City of Columbus & Franklin County Municipal Courts, which provides resources to parents and families who have children ages 11-17 on the cusp of entering the justice system. STEP supports both families and youth by building healthy relationships that strengthen the family dynamic and provide youth with structure and guidance.
The program will help build self-esteem, leadership abilities, public speaking and communication skills for our youth, all in a supportive community with other participants and engagement coaches.
The program also offers parents the curriculum and tools they need to develop healthy co-parenting partnerships, intervention strategies, conflict resolution tactics and school relationship support.
