The programs and services of the Columbus Urban League are dedicated to providing compassionate, appropriate, and needed assistance to African-Americans and disadvantaged persons who live in Columbus and Franklin County. The programs and services are specifically targeted to:
- African-American males to assist them with overcoming social ills that affect their community,
- Low-income individuals who are seeking career development opportunities that will help them achieve economic independence,
- Youth, families, and individuals to support them in leading healthy, safe, crime-free lives,
- Adults and young people who are in search of a GED or help with school work,
- Children who live in low-income households to help them get a strong educational start and help their families overcome barriers; and
- Families and individuals who are seeking homeownership or who are experiencing challenges with maintaining rental housing.
The programs and services are delivered by a staff of caring professionals who have a passion to serve. Through the programs and services that are offered in the following Departments, the Columbus Urban League is working to stabilize families and communities, improve the independence and self-reliance of each individual, and enhance the quality of life for all people served.
