HOUSING DISCRIMINATION SERVICES
This program provides counseling and supportive services to victims of alleged housing discrimination, annually trains community volunteers to act as housing testers; and investigates illegal housing discrimination complaints through testing. Program seeks redress through mediation, case filing, voluntary compliance or court actions.
LANDLORD - TENANT COUNSELING
Services provided include supportive services such as, educational information, referrals, brochures and other material to landlords and tenants involved in some type of housing dispute. Staff conducts intervention and mediation for conflict resolution, with the overall goal of homelessness prevention.
HOME MORTGAGE DISCLOSURE ACT REPORT (HMDA)
This program reviews the HMDA data that is submitted by major lending institutions to their regulators. An analysis is made of the loan approval and denial by race and ethenicity. The annual HMDA report is published, released to the public and utilized to encourage lending institutions to increase their outreach and program efforts to provide mortgage loans to minority groups.
