Center Manager
Reports To: Education Manager
Status: Exempt
Department: Head Start
Summary:
The Center Manager oversees all center activities, including: supervising center staff, facilitating parent involvement, maintaining full enrollment, participating in training, and ensuring implementation of work plans in the Policies and Procedures manual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Treat participants, fellow staff and community members with positive regard as defined in Head Start's mission statement.
· Oversee provision of Head Start services for families and staff across components.
· Coordinate center operations as stated in the Social Services/Parent Involvement, Education, Health/Nutrition, and Administration work plans and the Policies and Procedures manual.
· Develop, enhance and support community collaboration.
· Supervise work progress of employees and center spending in all components, food service and transportation.
· Facilitate the involvement of Head Start parents and community members in center committees.
· Facilitate the involvement of Head Start parents and community members in Policy Council.
· Arrange and facilitate the transportation of Head Start parents to center, regional and program wide Head Start activities.
· Utilize supervision strategies in the decision making process to negotiate and encourage center staff and parent committee to reach common goals.
· Responsibility to maintain full enrollment, with a 72-hour turn around to fill vacancies, in assigned center.
· Participate in an individualized continuing education plan including CPR and First Aid certification.
· All other duties as assigned, ensuring the implementation of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Minimum Qualifications:
· Post secondary course work equivalent to 2 years in one of the following or related fields: Business
Administration, Social Service, Health, Early Childhood Development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Two (2) years of experience supervising a staff of at least two.
· Three (3) years of experience working in a social service related field.
· Ability to communicate in writing
· Pass criminal background check including fingerprinting prior to first day of work.
